A Glasgow School of Art Windsor chair for the Library sold at auction in October at Bonhams in Edinburgh for £10,687 including premium.
Commissioned for the Glasgow School of Art Library in 1910, of typical form and with later steel reinforcing rods , 47cm wide, 44cm deep, 67cm high (18 1/2in wide, 17in deep, 26in high).
The design however, proved to be too delicate for student life. Steel reinforcing rods were added before the chair was withdrawn in favour of a more durable model.
