The Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society is delighted to offer a range of professional tours for those interested in finding out more about the architect, artist and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
The work of Mackintosh and his talented wife, Margaret, can only be truly appreciated by visiting Glasgow and seeing their work in context.
The Society’s 2017 tours develop the context further by including visits to the architectural work of Alexander Greek Thomson (in this, his 200th anniversary year) and the legacy that Thomson’s work has left on Glasgow and also exerted on the young C. R. Mackintosh.
A highlight of the 2017 residential tours is the involvement of renowned artist Avril Paton (Windows in the West, The Art School) who brings an additional dimension to the tour by giving the artists’ perspective on the theme of art and architecture in relation to both Glasgow and Mackintosh.
