Panels

As these illustrations show, Mackintosh employed a variety of decorative media in his work, from wood and metal to glass and plaster. Coloured glass was often used sparingly to decorate doors and items of furniture.  Both Mackintosh and Margaret worked in gesso, a decorative form of plaster employed to great effect by Renaissance artists and the resulting panels are amongst some of their most striking work.
